About Me
A lifelong maker in many ways, I only began to claim the title “artist” when it became my official job title. As I have grown into my professional career over the years, I now have come to realize that I was an artist all along. I did not pursue art in college - it wasn’t something I ever considered I would be able to do - or talented enough to do - for a living.
Life has a funny way of nudging you towards your purpose, and I ended up with the dream job as a full time display artist - a title I still consider myself incredibly lucky to have. Without the traditional path to this career through a formal education in art, much of what I can do was self taught. Through trial and error, a determination to succeed, and years of practice and experience, I have collected a diverse skillset and refined my craft.
Sarah Myrth:
Myrth is my middle name! As a kid, I was so embarrassed of my middle name. As an adult, I think it fits me perfectly. It was my maternal grandmother’s first name, and while I never met her, I feel connected to her in many ways. She was a painter, and I grew up with many of Myrth’s paintings adorning the walls of my childhood home. I’m so proud to carry on her name, and her legacy as an artist.
Whatever the new skill, I dive in headfirst.
I have experience with:
woodworking
large scale art installations
painting
illustration
digital sketching
sewing
cyanotypes
macrame
foam carving
sculpture
& more :)
